Back when I first started in this industry I saw every man that booked an appointment with me, but soon I began to realize that the older gentlemen made me feel so much more comfortable. I was once so uncomfortable around younger men that I would literally wiggle in my seat like a kid on a sugar high and no Ritalin. Not to mention the amount of No call NO shows, annoying behavior, and bad experiences all came from young guys.
That’s when I decided that I would no longer see clients under a certain age. I began setting an age requirement of 30, but that proved to be too young also, so I upped it to 35. I’m comfortable with 35, but I’ll probably up my age requirement to 40 by the spring time. I don’t have that many young clients anyway, so upping the age requirement won’t make that much of a difference. It probably won’t make that much of a difference for you also because it’s those older men with the disposable income that call the most.
Again, I base all of these tips on my experience, and you should do the same. If you’re comfortable around young guys and have a good experience with them, then by all means, make that money. But if you start to experience any Monkey-business, you should immediately eliminate it.
Always test it first. Most of your callers will be between the ages of 25-60. Listen to how they carry themselves over the phone. If they are polite and gives you all the information you require, then you probably got a winner.
Always be professional and polite even when you’re turning people down. Because eventfully he will become old enough and you want to be worth his wait.
